Senior Mechanic

Key Responsibilities:

• Advanced Diagnostics & Repair: Lead the diagnosis and repair of complex mechanical and electrical faults across the full vehicle range, including underchassis components (brakes, steering, suspension, axles) and drivetrain systems.
• High-Voltage EV System Servicing: Perform scheduled and corrective maintenance on high- voltage NMC battery modules, battery management systems (BMS), electric drive units, and regenerative braking systems in compliance with OEM safety protocols.
• Preventive Maintenance Management: Plan and execute comprehensive Preventive Maintenance Service (PMS) schedules for all customer and company fleet vehicles, ensuring full compliance with OEM service intervals and DOLE safety regulations.
• Junior Technician Mentorship: Supervise, guide, and assess the technical development of junior mechanics and apprentices, conducting on-the-job coaching sessions and technical knowledge transfers.
• Workshop Quality Control: Validate the quality of all completed repairs and maintenance jobs before vehicle release, signing off on job cards and ensuring all work meets commercial vehicle safety standards.
• Technical Documentation: Maintain accurate job cards, diagnostic reports, warranty claim documentation, and parts usage records within the workshop management system.
• Tools & Equipment Management: Oversee the calibration, maintenance, and proper use of all workshop diagnostic tools, lifting equipment, torque tools, and EV-specific safety equipment.
• Technical Escalation Point: Act as the primary technical reference for escalated and warranty- related issues, coordinating with OEM technical support teams or LexBuild/Switch Mobility engineering contacts as needed.

Qualifications:

1. Education: Vocational Certificate or Diploma (NC II or higher preferred) in Automotive Technology, Heavy Equipment Servicing, or equivalent. A degree or diploma from a technical vocational institution is a plus.
2. Experience: A minimum of 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience as an automotive mechanic, service technician, or workshop technician, with at least 2 years in a commercial vehicle, bus, or heavy-duty transport environment.
3. EV or Hybrid Experience: Prior hands-on experience with electric vehicle, hybrid vehicle, or high-voltage automotive systems is a significant advantage. Candidates without EV experience but with strong commercial vehicle foundations will receive full factory EV certification.
4. Licensing: Must hold a valid Professional or Non Professional Driver's License (Restriction Codes 1, 2, and 3 preferred, minimum Restriction Code 2). This is a strict requirement for vehicle testing and workshop road validation.
5. Technical Competencies: Expert-level knowledge of under chassis systems; strong understanding of automotive electrical schematics, CAN bus diagnostics, and OBD/diagnostic scanner operation.
6. Core Competencies: A high degree of professional accountability, strong technical communication skills for mentoring junior staff, meticulous safety-first work practices, and the ability to manage multiple vehicle repair jobs concurrently.
