PURCHASING TEAM LEADER
Roles and Responsibilities- Supervises purchasing operation as well as the personnel engage in buying and purchasing of items to ensure items will be served on the specified time period and in favorable prices, in the absence of the Dept head/Supvr.
- Assist in Supervising purchasing activities and ensure that all purchase request are served on specified time period.
- Establish standard operating procedures for purchasing; monitor the effectiveness of procedures; revise and improve purchasing processes.
- Work and coordinate with suppliers, manufacturer and internal departments towards the status of request and departmental needs.
- Search potential suppliers, visiting supplier’s plant and distribution centers and establish account and credit terms.
- Make actual purchase of supplies and materials requested by departments.
- Pick-up ordered items from suppliers for urgent items.
- Review Purchase Request Form and Issues Purchase Order of all approved PRFs.
- Call suppliers for the orders and ask for quotation before the issuance of PO.
- Work and coordinate with suppliers for the status of orders., manufacturer and internal departments towards the status of request and departmental needs.
- Liquidate cash purchases.
- Ensure that supplier’s invoices and documents required are sent to accounts payable for payment with transmittal report signed by the AP in-charge
- Monitors status of requisition slips, purchase orders, payable and submits records or update to purchasing supervisor weekly.
- Ensure that all purchase request are served on specified time period.
- Prepare transmittal of all documents received.
- Report daily issues to Purchasing Supervisor.
- Record and update order request status and provide feedback to supervisor.
- Performs other jobs and tasks as directed by the immediate superior or department head.
- Graduate of any Business related course.
- With a work experience as a purchaser in retail, manufacturing, hospitality or related industry , is preferred.
- Very good negotiation skills
- Effective oral, written English communication and computer skills
- Lives in Carmen, Cebu and nearby municipalities or willing to relocate in Carmen, Cebu
