Business Controller

Job Summary :

The Business Controller Associate act as/or assist in strategic partner/ing to business unit, by providing financial & performance analysis and business recommendations. This role checks proper financial control, effective planning, and a complete, timely & accurate management reporting that will drive sustainable growth and profitability.

Duties and Responsibilities: Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans of business unit.
  • Monitor actual performance against targets and provide variance analysis with actionable insights.
  • Develop financial models to support decision-making and business cases.
  • Act as a key business partner to operational leaders, providing financial insights and strategic guidance.
  • Analyze profitability, costs, and efficiency of the business units, products, or regions.
  • Identify risks and opportunities that impact business unit performance.
○ Weekly Progress Report (WPR)
○ Balance sheet risk assessment
○ Aging analysis – Receivables/ Payables
  • Reviews and checks adherence to internal controls, corporate policies, and statutory requirements.
○ Validate sales & collection
○ Develop/ update and implement financial and internal control policies and guidance to safeguard company’s assets and accurate financial reporting.
  • Ensures accurate, complete and timely financial reporting in line with IFRS/local GAAP.
  • Help drive improvements in financial processes, systems, and reporting tools.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, HR, etc.) to align financial goals with business strategies.
  • Present key findings and recommendations to reporting manager and as required to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Other task that maybe assigned in relation to the job role.

Qualifications/Requirements

Education : Bachelor’s Degree in Finance & Accounting (CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred).
Experience : 3–5 years of progressive finance/business controlling experience, with

at least 2 years in a managerial role (for manager rank)

Special Skills :
  • Strong expertise in financial planning, analysis, and reporting.
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting principles, IFRS/local GAAP.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP/Oracle) and advanced Excel/BI tools.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Analytical, detail-oriented, and able to influence decision-making
