About the role
DT Global Freight (Philippines) Inc. is seeking a dedicated Customer Service Specialist/Operations to join our dynamic team in Makati City, Metro Manila. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in ensuring excellent service delivery to our clients whilst maintaining smooth operational workflows.As a Customer Service Specialist/Operations, you will be the vital link between our clients and our freight forwarding operations, managing inquiries, coordinating shipments, and resolving issues with professionalism and efficiency. This role is essential to our commitment to delivering reliable and responsive freight and cargo forwarding services in a competitive logistics market.
Key responsibilities- Respond promptly to customer inquiries via phone, email, and other communication channels, providing accurate information about freight services, rates, and shipping options
- Process and coordinate freight shipments, including documentation preparation, booking confirmations, and tracking updates
- Maintain detailed records of customer transactions, shipments, and communications to ensure accurate documentation and easy retrieval
- Liaise with internal operations teams, warehouse staff, and logistics partners to ensure timely and successful cargo handling and delivery
- Monitor shipment status and proactively communicate updates to customers, addressing any concerns or delays
- Resolve customer complaints and issues professionally, escalating complex matters to senior management when necessary
- Assist in preparing quotations and proposals for potential clients based on shipping requirements
- Maintain compliance with freight forwarding regulations and company procedures
- Support administrative tasks including data entry, report generation, and filing systems management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to promote repeat business and customer satisfaction
- High school diploma or equivalent; tertiary qualification in logistics, business administration, or a related field is preferred
- 1-3 years of experience in customer service, freight forwarding, logistics, or a related operations role, Fresh graduate acceptable.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues
- Strong organisational and time management abilities, with capability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously
- Proficiency in using customer service platforms, Microsoft Office applications, and freight management systems
- Attention to detail and accuracy when handling shipment documentation and records
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to respond quickly to customer needs and operational challenges
- Knowledge of freight forwarding processes, shipping documentation, and logistics terminology is advantageous
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and maintain professional relationships
- Fluency in English; proficiency in additional languages is a valuable asset
