Safety supervisor

Job Description

• Supervise day-to-day activities within the assigned construction site to ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Ensure workers consistently wear proper PPE and adhere to workplace safety regulations.
• Investigate accidents, identify root causes, and participate in accident investigation committees.
• Record and communicate workers’ safety concerns to the Safety Manager.
• Arrange and facilitate safety training programs for workers and site personnel.
• Develop, implement, and monitor emergency procedures.
• Communicate and coordinate with management regarding workplace safety concerns.
• Inspect health and safety devices throughout the assigned area and take corrective actions as needed.
• Monitor the safety attitudes of site engineers and subcontractor workers, promoting active participation in safety efforts.
• Conduct regular health and safety inspections and implement corrective measures.
• Conduct pre-work safety meetings, explaining hazards and risk assessments to all parties.
• Report newly identified hazards during work to the Deputy Health Safety Manager/Coordinator.
• Advise workers on safe work procedures and planning.
• Implement overall safety management at the construction site, including the authority to halt operations in cases of imminent danger.
• Attend audits or inspections by authorities (e.g., DOLE) or their representatives, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations; may designate a representative in their absence.
• Perform duties in accordance with OSH standards and applicable DOLE orders.

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Safety Supervisor in construction projects.
• Must hold a valid HSE certification (BOSH, COSH, or OSH).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proactive, diligent, and highly attentive to detail.
• Strong knowledge of occupational safety and health standards, emergency procedures, and risk assessment practices.
