Resident Engineer

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Registered Civil Engineer or equivalent relevant degree; MS or Doctoral Degree in related field is an added advantage.
• Seven (7) years or more experience as Resident Engineer in construction supervision of bridge construction related field.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Coordinates project activities establishes priorities and staff to jobs. Prepares Summary Inspection Report of Daily activities.
2. Resolves technical field issues, and coordinates with Engineer-of-Record for timely and accurate responses to requests for information.
3. Oversees project controls, including checking contractor's controls and coordinating schedules, reviews constructors schedule.
4. Reviews submittals for conformance to plans and specifications. Develops strategies with the contractor to create submittal packages that conform to schedule requirements.
5. Supervises and mentors team to overall project objectives.
6. Identifies and resolves non-compliant work.
7. Provides interpretation and enforcement of contract plans and specifications.
8. Develops strategies with the contractor to create submittal packages that conform to schedule requirements.
9. Confirms change order requests, develops estimates, negotiates costs, and writes change orders.
