About the role

As Safety Manager, you will be responsible for managing and streamlining management systems and processes in the areas of health and safety to ensure safe and healthy working conditions. This position is also responsible for monitoring and reporting the Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) performance of the company ensuring alignment with policies and government regulations.

1. Leading & Driving the OSH policies and procedures

• Leads in the development of OSH policies and procedures ensuring compliance to company and government regulations.
• Cascades and communicates policies, programs, and initiatives ensuring alignment and consistent application at the area.
• Monitors the implementation of these policies and procedures throughout the organization.
• Conducts OSH systems and application audit in operating lines, construction sites, new offices to ensure compliance and having a safe and healthy work environment.
• Assists in investigating any violations or deviations of OSH policies and regulations.

1. Compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements

• Ensures compliance of the plant to all pertinent health and safety rules and regulations as well as internal company standards.
• Acts as the subject matter expert on matters related to industrial/occupational health and safety, including minimum statutory requirements, workers’ rights, and best practices on reporting and investigation of workplace incidents.
• Ensures that all personnel and partners are made aware of the OSH policies and procedures, and are competent for effective and sustained implementation.
• Assesses and recommends appropriate safety equipment, PPEs, and installations for use in all areas of the plant.

1. Management and regulatory reporting

• Prepares regular report to management related to OSH performance of each plant, specifically in the area of Lost time injury occurrences, safety incidents and violations, and administrative investigation.
• Tracks and reports on OSH permit compliance.
• Prepares and submits regulatory reports and other OSH related reports.

1. Continuous Improvement

• Supports continuous improvement initiatives related to OSH and ensure the sharing of best practices among the different departments and functions.

• With at least five (5) years work experience in a safety management role in a large organization or in an operational role in a safety conscious organization.
• Desired candidate must possess strong technical knowledge in safety concepts such as risk management, incident investigation and management, systems development, behavioral safety, change management, hazard recognition and audit.
• Candidate must be a Certified Safety Practitioner in accordance with the Philippines Safety legislation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and mitigate safety risks.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with all levels of the organization.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver comprehensive safety training programs.
• Proficient in incident investigation, root cause analysis and corrective action planning.
• Proactive, detail-oriented and committed to promoting a safe work environment.
• S/he must be willing to work on-site in Meycauayan, Bulacan.
