Summary of Work Activities and Responsibilities:
The Campus Minister plans, coordinates, implements, and evaluates spiritual formation programs and activities for the students and employees of Senior High School.
The position supports the University’s aim to hone and enrich the community’s talents and character through structures and age-appropriate opportunities guided by the Ignatian tradition and pedagogy.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
I. Spiritual Formation- Designs, promotes, facilitates, and implements spiritual formation programs, particularly but not limited to, recollections and retreats in line with the office mission and goals
- Manages all logistical preparation, module presentations and mass assignments during recollections/retreats
- Recruits, orients, and performs follow-ups on facilitators and staff of recollections/retreats
- Provides individual or group spiritual accompaniment and guidance
- Coordinates with the Jesuit Vocation Program for the implementation of Meet the Jesuits (MTJ) Program and helps in the promotion of Jesuit Vocation and apostolates
- Prepares financial reports, budget proposals, presentations and other documents for respective programs in consultation with concerned persons and/or teams
- Attends regular meetings for team planning and evaluation of Campus Ministry programs and activities
- Collaborates with partner offices and departments for integrated formation programs
- Coordinates with resource persons, priests, and participants for the implementation of the formation programs
- Maintains and updates the OCM-SHS social media account/s and other communication platforms in coordination with the University Marketing and Communications Office (UMCO) to ensure compliance with University guidelines
- Serves as the OCM point person for the school-wide liturgical and sacramental celebrations, overseeing its planning and preparations
- Participates as a sacristan or server, lay minister, or commentator as needed
- Ensures all logistical requirements are prepared, including selection and coordination with main presiders
- Coordinates with various stakeholders (Formation Coordinators, Class Moderators, Subject Area Coordinators, and Heads of different student organizations) involved in sponsored Masses
IV. Performs other duties as may be assigned by the immediate supervisor, or any authorized representative
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ignatian Spirituality and Formation: Strong knowledge of Ignatian spirituality concepts, values, and practices. Ability to design and facilitate reflective retreats, and recollections, and conduct spiritual conversations that are appropriate and responsive to the needs of the participants
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to effectively relate, collaborate, and negotiate with different job levels in different circumstances, taking into consideration their needs, feelings, and context. Equally comfortable dealing with staff, faculty, and administrators/management
- Networking and Relationship Management: Ability to establish, develop, and maintain productive relationships with partners and other stakeholders over time, and facilitate collaboration among people. Ability to innovate and partner changes; able to collaborate and deal with different levels of stakeholders
- Communication Skills: Ability to actively listen, ask proper questions, and communicate tactfully and sensitively with all types of personalities and predispositions
- Customer Service Skills: Ability to understand client perspectives and respond to their needs with urgency and serious attention; This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
- Technological Savvy: Ability to utilize information technology and computer and internet systems to accomplish tasks; proficient in MS Office Applications
- Time Management Skills: Ability to use one’s time and resources efficiently and effectively
- Budget and Resource Management: Ability to project, maintain, and monitor the allocated program and activity budget
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree graduate
- Post-graduate degree in Spirituality, Pastoral Ministry, Religious Education or Theology is an advantage
- Background training related to Ignatian Spirituality, Campus Ministry, or Youth Ministry
- With Ignatian retreat participation and facilitation experience
- With relevant work experience with student/employee formation programs
