Job Description
We're seeking an experienced Account Officer with a strong background in Corporate and Commercial Banking. The role involves handling client relationship management, credit evaluation, and administration of borrowing accounts, while ensuring compliance with credit policies and audit requirements.You will also lead in soliciting new accounts, cross-selling banking products, and supervising account assistants to ensure smooth loan processing and reporting.
Key Responsibilities- Solicit and develop accounts for the establishment of credit facilities and cross-sell other banking products (deposits, insurance, credit cards, etc.)
- Conduct credit evaluations, financial analyses, and prepare credit proposals for new and renewal facilities
- Request and review trade checkings, collateral appraisals, and ensure timely submission of requirements
- Secure credit approvals from the Credit Committee and coordinate with related units for documentation and loan implementation
- Administer and monitor borrowing accounts for budget, portfolio quality, and audit compliance
- Conduct regular client visits to validate, update, and maintain business information
- Supervise account assistants in loan availments/payments, report preparation, and other administrative functions
- Handle ad hoc tasks as assigned
- Minimum 3 years of experience as an Account Officer in Corporate or Commercial Banking
- Strong background in Account Management
- Extensive exposure to a wide range of banking products (not limited to loans)
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business-related courses (with Accounting units preferred)
- Excellent communication and client relationship skills
- Strong financial analysis, credit evaluation, and documentation skills
- Experience supervising junior staff or assistants
- Strong portfolio of handled borrowing accounts with consistent compliance records
- Familiarity with audit and regulatory requirements in banking
- Proven ability to meet or exceed account solicitation and portfolio quality targets
