We are looking for an experienced PRODUCT RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE to be assigned at our Head Office in Sta. Ana, Manila.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for assisting in developing new food products and improving existing offerings as demanded by the market and trends.
• Ensuring that potential new products can be manufactured profitability and meet food safety requirements
• To carry on new product development, process and profit improvement projects.
• Assist the Product Development Manager and provide necessary technical support to the team, customers and operations.
• Actively participate in technical programs and management of personnel
• Prepare/review product costing analysis to ensure that products are within the target cost.
• Develop and carry out standard procedures in the conduct of product quality and product acceptability test
• Test and select ingredients and packaging materials for specific projects.
• Provides product development works assigned by PR&D Specialist/Supervisor
• Prepares product samples and technical specifications, works on formulations, lab tests, shelf life testing, production scale up and costing.

• Helps assess samples and provides input for new submission raw materials and ingredients submitted by flavor houses and ingredients suppliers and accomplishes corresponding raw material submission report for transmittal to Purchasing and suppliers concerned, with a copy for the PR&D file
• Assists in the preparation of raw material specifications for when a “new” raw material is used in developmental products that have been approved and commercialized for transmittal to all concerned and the PR&D file.
• Assists checking of substitute raw and traded materials and issuance of Sample Submission Assessment Form.

• Assists in the preparation of Product Specifications for developmental products that have been approved and commercialized, for transmittal to all concerned and the PR&D file.

• Assists in submission of samples of: (a) raw materials, (b) finished developmental products and (c) competitive products (if needed) to TMI (toller), with a Request for Analysis form specifying the analyses required and thereafter for following up and documenting the results of analysis.

• Stay updated on new developments in this field and pro-actively share with the development teams.

• Bachelor's degree in Food Technology, and other related fields.
• Professionals with minimum of 2 years of experience in related field.
• Experience within the food solutions industry is an advantage.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills
• Good understanding and know-how of the industry and category assigned including information on ingredients, packaging, and technology.
• Attention to details and documentation skills
• Must have an excellent time management, organizational, interpersonal and customer relations skills
• Must have knowledge in MS Office (i.e Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
