To successfully push forward in this challenging business, we are looking for a competent Process Engineer to strengthen our Production Department. Your job is important to support the manufacturing of our complex products.
Job Description
Our highly complex and bespoke products often require significant engineering before they are ready for production. As part of the engineering team you will plan, execute, supervise and evaluate engineering work to ensure a smooth production of the product later.
Key Responsibilities- Define, plan, and execute engineering projects using resources like labor, materials, tools and equipment, external providers.
- Document the project objectives in a proposal including estimated budget and time.
- Conduct hands-on evaluations and experiments yourself and by assigning and supervising work to operators.
- Coordinate with relevant stakeholders from other departments including our European headquarters to obtain best available project resources, support, and solutions.
- Ensure that established and approved production processes are production-ready and implemented during production.
- Report on project progress, results, and budget.
- Document the newly developed or improved process description in standard operating procedures.
- Understand standard processes and recognize process deviations.
- Monitor and report project status to relevant stakeholders by clear and reliable documentation on progress, budget, and action items.
- Generate Bill of Materials, Bill of Operations, and work instructions.
- Train, lead, and direct project team members to ensure objectives are obtained, resources are managed adequately, and compliant, safe, and sustainable work conditions are provided.
- Work extended hours when necessary to finish assigned projects.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned by your superior.
- Bachelor graduate in Industrial Engineering or related engineering course.
- At least three years practical work experience in manufacturing, engineering, and process development, preferably within the furniture or related industry.
- Strong understanding of process development, process improvement and technical aspects of production operations.
- Process-oriented with experience in documentation of results, continuous improvement of processes, and process standardization.
- Proactive and self-motivated with a natural desire to learn, research, find solutions and invent new things by getting physically involved in hands-on execution.
- Able to plan multiple experiments or tests to run in parallel and develop relevant work plans.
- Solid computer knowledge, especially in MS Excel, Word, and basic image editing for documentation purposes.
- Able to read technical blueprints, drawings and sketches, AutoCAD knowledge is a plus.
- Eye and mindset for product quality.
- Good English communication skills.
- Experience in furniture industry is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of working in an ISO 9001 regulated environment, additional experience in ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 is beneficial
