Accounting Manager

The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the organization’s accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with statutory requirements, and effective management of accounting processes. This role leads the accounting team in maintaining financial records, managing month-end and year-end closing activities, preparing financial statements, and supporting business decision-making through financial analysis and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting- Manage and oversee daily accounting operations, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, and Bank Reconciliations.
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory reporting requirements.
- Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports for accuracy and completeness.
- Monitor cash flow, working capital, and financial performance indicators.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Analyze budget variances and provide recommendations to management.
- Support strategic financial planning initiatives.
- Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Ensure compliance with government regulations, taxation requirements, and company policies.
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory agencies.
- Lead audit preparation and facilitate external and internal audit processes.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff.
- Assign responsibilities and monitor team performance.
- Establish and maintain accounting policies and procedures.
- Promote continuous improvement and operational efficiency within the accounting function.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting systems.
- Participate in ERP implementation, system upgrades, and process automation initiatives.
- Support cross-functional projects requiring financial expertise.
Qualifications
Education- Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related field.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred.
- Minimum of 5–8 years of progressive accounting experience.
- At least 2–3 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
