OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH NURSE
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITY
Responsible for the organization and administration of health service programs integrating occupational safety such as providing preventive care & appropriate emergency and first aid management to employees on any medical condition on work-related trauma cases in accordance with company Physician’s, and for taking lead and administering the company’s safety and health programs among others.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Preventive Care/Safety & Health Administration- Attends to employees’ emergency medical care that may occur in the company premises or company activities.
- Participates in health maintenance examination, perform work activities within the scope allowed by the nursing profession including dispensing appropriate medications, and refer cases requiring extensive examinations to a physician
- Assist the Senior OHN in initiating programs for maintenance of occupational health and safety especially in providing a work environment affecting the health and well-being of the workers
- Maintains efficient reporting and heath records system and assist the Senior OHN in complying to government reportorial requirements on occupational health and safety (ie annual medical report, etc.)
- Administers the company’s group health insurance benefit, helps the Senior OHN in renewal preparations and in program improvement proposals
- Administers the company’s medical reimbursement benefit and helps initiate benefit improvement proposals
- Administers maternity benefits and helps initiate benefit improvement proposals
- helps the Senior OHN lead the yearly annual physical exam and executive check-up of employees and expats
- Ensures that clinic facilities and equipment are on top condition, maintains availability & inventory of medicines, and initiates proposals to improve as appropriate.
- Maintains updated and efficient service of various health service providers (ie gym provider, HMO, executive check-up, pre-employment medical exam) and helps discuss and prepare service contract renewal and related service improvements.
- Monitors delivery, checks content and monitors payment of invoices from service providers (HMO, executive check-up, pre-employment medical exam); records and transmits to Finance in-charge for payment on time; reports related expenses to different teams as necessary.
- Contributes to organizational improvement programs and helps maintains good and updated documentation of safety/health related policies and regulations.
- Keeps abreast with latest updates on new safety/health legislation and recommends appropriate advise to Management on those that may have impact to the employee or company’s safety and health.
- Ensures that company’s compliance of safety policies and procedures. Facilitates safety audits and drives safety compliance programs.
- Assists the HR team in implementing programs designed towards improving employee morale such as rewards and recognition programs, etc.
- Upholds the KYOCERA Philosophy and participates in various KYOCERA Philosophy permeation activities
- Supports and observes company practices concerning quality management systems and ISMS practices
- Participates in company-wide activities that will help promote organizational improvement and high level of employee engagement such as 5S campaigns, safety and health programs, clubs and employee wellness activities.
REQUIREMENTS
Education/Experience- Registered Nurse
- Preferably with 5 years of work experience as company nurse
- Can perform clinical task independently
- Basic knowledge in occupational health & safety practices such has hazard identification, risk assessment, occupational disease knowledge, fitness for work evaluation
- Can perform health promotion and preventive care independently
- Good communication skills and can collaborate cross-functionally on routine occupational health/safety matters
- Good documentation and record keeping ability
- Proactive mindset and maintains empathy, professionalism and integrity
- Proficient in all MS Applications (MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint) & internet savvy
