US Mortgage Underwriter - Muntinlupa

We’re seeking an analytical and detail-oriented US Mortgage Underwriter to support commercial real estate credit evaluation and underwriting for U.S.-based clients. Training will be provided, but a strong financial background is essential.

• Analyze loan applications with a focus on applicant financials and collateral valuation, ensuring thoroughness and accuracy.
• Collaborate with internal teams to meet timelines outlined in service level agreements.
• Engage proactively with clients and sales to gather required data for informed credit decisions.
• Recommend optimal loan structures aligned with credit requests and company policies.
• Prepare concise, insightful credit memos outlining borrower strength, creditworthiness, and potential risks.
• Perform ongoing risk assessments and monitoring for assigned loans; identify early warning signs and propose mitigation strategies.
• Administer construction loans including budget tracking, scheduling, report analysis, and funding coordination.
• Monitor market trends and analyze industry data to identify external risks.
• Utilize U.S.-based resources to evaluate portfolio risks such as default probability and loss estimates.
• Ensure all activities comply with legal standards and internal credit policies.
• Be willing to travel for training purposes.
• Support the Chief Credit Officer and senior management with additional responsibilities as needed.

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Real Estate, or a related field (with strong academic performance).
• 3+ years' experience in a Big 4 accounting firm or as a credit analyst in US-based CRE, especially in Hospitality, Assisted Living, or Renewable Energy; OR 5+ years in finance/accounting.
• Strong grasp of accounting principles (US GAAP and IFRS preferred).
• Excellent financial analysis, risk evaluation, and report writing skills.
• Highly detail-oriented, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Availability to work U.S. hours and communicate clearly in English.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
