Job Detail:The Documentation Standards & BIM Support Specialist is responsible for developing, maintaining, and implementing company-wide documentation standards for the client's architecture and interior design team operating in Australia and the Philippines.
The role begins with a strong focus on collaborating with the onshore team to establish consistent drawing standards, templates, and documentation workflows. Over time, the position will evolve into a BIM-focused role, supporting the implementation of these standards across project teams and contributing to the firm’s digital delivery strategy.
This role requires strong knowledge of Australian architectural documentation requirements, including relevant codes, standards, and industry conventions.
Job Responsibilities:
Phase 1 - Documentation Standards Development- Work closely with the onshore architectural and interior design teams to understand current documentation practices, project requirements, and quality expectations.
- Develop comprehensive documentation standards, including drawing templates and title blocks; lineweight and layer standards; Annotation, dimensioning, and notation guidelines; sheet organisation and documentation workflows; standard details library
- Produce clear, accessible guidelines and manuals for internal use.
- Audit existing project documentation to identify inconsistencies and improvement opportunities.
- Assist in establishing QA processes for documentation output.
- Support the creation and maintenance of the BIM Management Plan (BMP/BEP) aligned with Australian industry expectations.
- Assist in developing BIM standards, including model structure and file organisation, naming conventions, object libraries and content standards, coordination workflows
- Provide ongoing support to project teams in applying documentation and BIM standards.
- Contribute to training materials, onboarding guides, and process documentation.
- Participate in digital transformation initiatives as the practice evolves.
Job Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience producing architectural documentation for Australian projects.
- Strong understanding of Australian Standards, NCC requirements, and local documentation conventions.
- Previous experience working with Australian architecture or construction firms.
- High level of proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and other relevant documentation tools.
- Ability to create structured, clear, and scalable documentation systems.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate remotely with onshore teams.
- High attention to detail and a methodical approach to documentation quality.
- Experience developing BIM Execution Plans or BIM Management Plans.
- Familiarity with ISO 19650 principles.
- Experience in digital practice, BIM coordination, or technical standards development.
- Knowledge of interior design documentation workflows.
- Ability to train or mentor others in documentation or BIM processes.
