Interior Architectural Designer (Home Based/Remote Work)
Studio Makal is an award winning RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects) practice based in Singapore.
We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Interior Architectural Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing design projects from concept to completion, delivering high-quality interior design solutions, and working closely with clients and project teams.
Interior Architectural Designer (Home Based/Remote Work)
This is a full-time position offering you the opportunity to develop and refine interior architectural designs that balance aesthetic vision with practical functionality. In this role, you will play a vital part in the creative and technical aspects of our interior design projects, working on diverse briefs that range from commercial, residential, and hospitality spaces.You will contribute to all stages of the design process, from initial concept development through to detailed technical documentation and site supervision, ensuring that our designs are both visionary and buildable.
Key responsibilities- Undertake design projects from conceptualization to completion.
- Understand clients’ goals and project requirements.
- Conduct walk-through presentations using Enscape during client meetings.
- Oversee project schedules and progress to ensure high-quality standards.
- Demonstrate strong understanding of interior detailing, lighting, and electrical layouts, and prepare related drawings independently.
- Review and check shop drawings.
- Prepare mood boards and present design concepts to clients.
- Possess good knowledge of luxury brands for interior furnishing.
- Liaise with contractors, clients , suppliers, and consultants confidently.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 -3 years of professional experience in Interior Design or Interior Architecture, preferably within a design studio or architectural practice.
- Diploma or Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a related design discipline.
- Strong knowledge in layout planning, material selection, and color coordination.
- Proficiency in design software such as SketchUp, Enscape, 3ds Max, D5, Rhino, Photoshop, Illustrator, and AutoCAD.
- Strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently in a home-based environment while collaborating effectively with the team.
- Strong project and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with good verbal and written English.
