About the Role
High-performing finance teams rely on accuracy that influences critical decisions. The Management Accountant ensures financial integrity across complex expedition operations, from voyage costing to month-end reporting. - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
- 3-5 years experience in a reconciliation-focused accounting role with progression
- Strong background in bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, and prepayments
- Experience in voyage, project, or job-based accounting preferred
- Advanced Excel skills and ERP experience (MYOB Acumatica, Kaptio, or equivalent)
- CPA or CA qualification or actively pursuing
- High level of organization and analytical thinking
- Strong communication skills with ability to engage non-finance stakeholders
- Proven ability to meet strict month-end deadlines
- Own daily bank reconciliations and monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies across clearing accounts
- Prepare and post month-end journals, including accruals and prepayments
- Ensure accurate period recognition aligned with accounting standards
- Complete voyage reconciliations and align revenues with associated costs
- Oversee voyage revenue recognition processes
- Reconcile financial data across finance and operational systems
- Manage fixed asset reconciliations and depreciation schedules
- Maintain audit-ready balance sheet documentation
- Oversee supplier and operational reconciliations
- Provide accurate data for management reporting and variance analysis
- Identify process improvements to enhance controls and efficiency
- Collaborate with AP, AR, and operations teams to resolve financial issues
