Mechanic Lead (North Luzon) - Operations, Middle Mile, SPX Express

Job Summary:

Hands-on, field-focused lead to oversee truck repair and maintenance operations across multiple sites. This position will work closely with technicians, vendors, and drivers to make sure trucks stay safe, reliable, and on the road.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead Field Teams: Supervise and support lead mechanics, mechanics, and parts inventory across multiple locations. Be present on-site regularly to guide, inspect, and resolve issues.
• Schedule & Prioritize Repairs: Manage daily work orders, oversee unscheduled repairs, and keep operations moving without unnecessary downtime.
• Preventative Maintenance (PM): Make sure every unit is up to date with scheduled maintenance and inspections. Keep records tight and accurate.
• Quality Control: Ensure all work meets safety, compliance, and performance standards. Do regular hands-on checks of repairs and documentation.
• Parts & Vendors: Order critical parts, negotiate pricing, and manage relationships with outside service providers and parts suppliers.
• Fleet Monitoring: Use fleet software to stay ahead of breakdowns, flag problem vehicles, and catch recurring issues early.
• Reporting: Track key metrics like uptime, repair turnaround, and cost per unit. Keep leadership informed with clear, useful updates.
• Train & Develop Teams: Build up your crew. Identify skill gaps, provide training, and help your best people grow.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in diesel truck maintenance, with at least 2 years in a leadership or field supervisor role
• Strong mechanical background
• Experience managing mobile repair units and/or multiple shop sites
• Solid understanding of Class 7 & 8 vehicles, diagnostics, DOT regs, and fleet compliance
• Comfortable using maintenance software and basic reporting tools
• Ability to travel within the assigned area regularly
• Strong communicator — clear with drivers, techs, and upper management
