Financial Accountant (Onsite)

Job Description:

Financial Reporting:

• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Ensure compliance with relevant Australian accounting standards.

Financial Analysis:

• Prepare budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics.

Accounting Operations:

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
• Reconcile bank accounts and prepare journal entries.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.

Tax Compliance:

• Prepare documentation for taxation, including BAS, ITAS.
• Stay up to date on tax laws and regulations.

Audits and Compliance:

• Assist with internal and external audits.
• Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and industry standards.

System Implementation and Maintenance:

• Implement and maintain financial software and systems.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or any related field.
• Certified Public Accountant / Chartered Accountant is a plus.
• Construction industry background is a plus.
• Experience managing interactions across multiple companies.
• Experience in handling payroll responsibilities is a plus.
• Proficiency in using Xero and other accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks).
• Strong understanding of Australian tax laws and the ability to prepare relevant journal entries.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices; in-depth accounting knowledge beyond basic bookkeeping.
• Strong understanding of intercompany accounting.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
