Role Overview:

This position involves assisting with the processing of financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, reconciling

accounts, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The Accounting Assistant will collaborate closely with the

senior accounting team to help ensure the accuracy and efficiency of financial reporting, payroll processing, and general

bookkeeping tasks. The role requires a high level of attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a solid

understanding of accounting principles.

Responsibilities:

  • Process payments (RFP), ensuring all invoices are accurately recorded and paid on time.
  • Monitor accounts payable aging report, following up on overdue payments.
  • Prepare and process expense reports and purchase requisitions.
  • Ensure proper filing of financial documents and records for easy retrieval and audit purposes.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
  • Support the accounting team in preparing budgets and forecasts.
  • Provide necessary information for financial audits and compliance reviews.

Operational Tasks:

  • Review, verify, and process incoming invoices from vendors and suppliers.
  • Ensure invoices are accurate, match purchase orders, and are approved for payment.
  • Enter financial transactions into accounting software or spreadsheets accurately and promptly.
  • Maintain records of all transactions to ensure they align with company financials.
  • Perform regular reconciliations of accounts (such as revolving funds, advances accounts) to ensure accuracy.
  • Follow up on any discrepancies and work to resolve them efficiently.
  • Organize and maintain financial documents, such as invoices, receipts, and contracts, in both physical and
  • electronic formats.
  • Ensure all documents are filed properly to meet company policies and legal requirements.
  • Monitor and record employee expenses, ensuring compliance with company policy.
  • Ensure all expense reports are submitted with proper documentation and in a timely manner.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A graduate of Bachelor of Science in Accountancy
  • Proven experience in accounting or bookkeeping (1-2 years preferred)
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
