As our Senior Accounts Payable Office, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the organisation’s Accounts Payable function, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments. The role maintains strong financial controls, supports consistent and standardised accounting practices, and works closely with operational, procurements teams to resolve issues promptly and ensure supplier payments are processed on time.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic
  • Support the consistent application of accounts payable processes and controls across the organisation
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and internal policies
  • Promote best practices in accounts payable to improve accuracy and efficiency
  • Contribute to ongoing improvements in processes and reporting within the finance function
  • Establish and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting to monitor accounts payable performance
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to support effective an efficient operations
Operational
  • Process supplier invoices and payments accurately and within required timeframes
  • Verify/approve invoices and ensure correct coding to accounts and cost centres using Zone Capture
  • Manage vendor accounts, including responding to queries and resolving discrepancies promptly
  • Liaise with operational & procurement teams to address issues impacting invoice processing and payments
  • Issue purchase order amendments and manage stop payments where required
  • Reconcile accounts payable transactions with the general ledger
  • Maintain accurate records and assist in the preparation of financial reports
  • Prepare and analyse aged payables report and cash flow payment forecasts to support effective cash management and performance monitoring
  • Ensure Accounts Payable team members remain motivated, with clear deliverables aligned to company goals and targets.

Qualification and requirements:

  • Proven experience in data processing
  • Fast typing skills; Knowledge of touch typing system is strongly preferred
  • Excellent knowledge of word processing tools and spreadsheets (MS Office Word, Excel etc.)
  • Working knowledge of office equipment and computer hardware and peripheral devices
  • Strong understanding of databases
  • Good command of English both oral and written and customer service skills
  • Great attention to detail

Non-negotiable skills:

  • Proven 3+ years of experience as an Accounts Payable Officer.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Proficient with any accounting software

Non-negotiable skills & requirements:

  • 10+ years’ experience in Accounts Payable Specialist or similar role
  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
  • Advanced Excel Skills
  • Problem-solver and extensive experience in accounts
