As part of our continued growth in Asia, we are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join our construction management team in Manila, Philippines.
Key Responsibilities:
You'll be working across multiple project locations, with travel to site a key part of the role.
Pre-construction
Providing activities and tasks throughout pre-construction phase of a project including but not limited to:
- Develop budgets, cost plans and tender documentation
- Conduct value engineering and advise clients
- Manager tender processes, contractor prequalifications and interviews
- Build BOQs, analyse submissions, and provide procurement advice for clients
- Prepare and review contractual documents
- Stakeholder identification, engagement and consultation.
- Preparation of cash flow forecast and monitoring against Progress Claims
- Check interim claims from Contractors and identify variation work
- Certificate preparation and approval of interim payments
- Attend site meetings and prepare financial reports
- Final account negotiation and closure
- Implement processes and practices as per the Integrated Management System (IMS)
- Implement and maintain Work Health and Safety (WHS) policies and procedures
- Implement risk management principles and activities appropriate to the project.
- Act as Project Leader (PL) for a variety of small to medium-sized projects using both the COVA integrated Management System (IMS) and client-based project management systems.
- The project leader is responsible for delivering the project, managing the team, and ensuring the project's profitability.
- The ideal candidate must serve as a key liaison between the office and various project sites and should be willing to travel.
- Builds relationships with Clients
- Assist in preparing proposals in consultation with the Project Leader and/or Commercial Manager
- Attend project close-out and review meetings with the Project Leader / Team and Client.
- Day-to-day interaction with the client
- Direct marketing to new and existing clients
- Cold call, network, and gain referrals to identify opportunities
- Manage and update sales pipeline/forecasting
- Cross-sell services within existing projects and to existing clients
NB: You will not be required to take on all Business Development responsibilities.
Qualifications:
- A relevant degree in Engineering or Quantity Surveying
- A minimum of 4 years' experience in quantity surveying or a related field
- Strong communication skills
- Solid understanding of both pre-and post-contract processes
- Proficiency in estimating software (i.e. CostX) and Microsoft Office
It would be great if you also have:
- Professional Membership i.e. Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors / Philippine Institute of Certified Quantity Surveyors (PICQS)
