As a Procurement Manager (Global Logistics Experience), you are responsible for developing and implementing global and regional sourcing strategies across multiple spend categories—direct or indirect. You'll identify cost-saving opportunities, drive change, and apply industry best practices to help build a best-in-class Enterprise Procurement function.
The main responsibilities of a Procurement Manager (Global Logistics Experience) include:
- Supports and may Lead negotiations and manages worldwide and/or regional/local contracts (e.g., technology, supplies, Real Estate, Fleet, Contract Manufacturing, SaaS, Logistics etc)
- Contributes to and may lead the strategy and vision of related programs ensuring strategic alignment with LOB and business support functions, accountable for building strong and effective relationships with internal stakeholders.
- Manages corporate direct order programs serving regional locations. Targets commodities, initiates corporate agreements, builds supplier relationships and negotiates industry competitive pricing models, best practices, service levels and support for our internal customers.
- Supports New Product Development projects, the individual will be responsible for managing the Procurement program deliverables on behalf of the team.
- Manage complex supply chain/procurement situations with aggressive goals and often short notice for n-tier suppliers including relevant silicon manufacturers (e.g. end-of-life component obsolescence and lifecycle management).
- Provides input to policies and procedures for related programs.
- May outsource & manage vendors to focus on global/regional distribution.
- Identifies PB's ongoing needs for the purpose of seeking and analyzing competitive bids, selecting and implementing vendors. Monitors and reports on vendor performance.
- Manages business and functional compliance against programs and policies and reports to appropriate management teams.
- Assists with support and communication of additional programs as appropriate.
- May manage the operational integration of third party services.
- Maintain active compliance with EHS, Legal, Quality, Supply Chain and Contract rules, SAP, etc.
To apply, you must be an expert on the following requirements:
- 5-10 years leadership experience in procurement/strategic sourcing/contracting/sub-contracting/supply chain, preferably in a global technical product delivery organization, with a clear record of success and achievement dealing with complex supply chain/procurement issues.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of procurement/sourcing principles and processes and ability to conduct detailed financial analyses.
- Experience negotiating world-class terms and conditions for supplier agreements. Demonstrate understanding of Pitney Bowes contract management process, terms and conditions, and corporate policies. Experience negotiating with Japanese-based suppliers a plus.
- Experience in managing internal stakeholders and a record of success in supply chain transformation and change management.
- Domain expertise about print and associated technologies for development of meters and sending devices.
- Experience in continuous improvement, process flows, and reengineering principles.
- Able to analyze various strategic options and their direct potential and indirect impact on the organization.
- Must be a roll up the sleeves leader, capable of motivating and energizing both direct and matrix organizations at PB.
- Must be a highly effective communicator, both verbally and in writing,
- Must have both excellent one on one and large audience/presentation skills.
- Must be a team player, with courage of conviction. Must be able to partner effectively with the key leadership across PB.
- Must be a fact based decision maker.
- Must be comfortable with ambiguity, a self-starter.
- Must operate independently and be able to drive a project to success with little oversight.
- Must be a high energy, hard worker, with outstanding business and personal ethics.
- Must persevere in the face of challenges.
- Must be able to work productively and respectfully with other cultures
- Willingness to travel to as needed (up to 4 times/year)
- Knowledge of manufacturing is very helpful for success in this position.
