Job Description

1. Lead high-level business negotiations and strategic alignments directly with the Tokyo headquarters of Japanese multinational clients, utilizing advanced Japanese consensus-building techniques (Nemawashi).
2. Direct the complex internal approval processes (Ringi) required by Japanese clients to secure budgets and project sign-offs, preventing operational delays.
3. Advise Japanese Expatriate Directors on local market integration while ensuring their strict corporate governance and cultural mandates are executed flawlessly by the Philippine team.
4. Facilitate Joint Business Planning (JBP) with key Japanese clients, proactively auditing their Philippine market performance to identify growth opportunities.
5. Formulate and pitch strategic "BEKKAI" turnaround solutions directly to Japanese decision-makers using advanced, high-context business Japanese (Keigo).
6. Manage high-stakes crisis communication and critical feedback loops with Japanese stakeholders, ensuring immediate and culturally appropriate resolutions to protect long-term agency-client partnerships.
7. Direct the localization and execution of Hakuhodo’s global and Japan-originated campaigns into the Philippine market, ensuring the core essence of the "Seikatsusha" philosophy is accurately translated across creative, media, and digital departments.
8. Act as the final quality control authority before any strategic or creative output is presented to Japanese clients, ensuring all deliverables meet rigorous Japanese corporate standards.
9. Oversee the financial health of Japanese accounts, ensuring that all campaigns are executed within budget and aligned with both local and Japanese fiscal timelines.
10. Produce and present complex performance reports, financial audits, and strategic forecasts using Japanese business reporting standards and metrics demanded by Tokyo headquarters.
11. Analyze market data through the lens of Japanese business objectives, providing actionable intelligence that Japanese stakeholders can immediately use for their regional planning.
12. Command and mentor the local client services team, actively bridging the gap between local operational styles and the highly demanding, precision-driven expectations of Japanese clients.
13. Institutionalize training for local staff on how to effectively service Japanese accounts, optimizing workflow to match Japanese speed and quality standards.

• Previous experience working with Japanese clients or in a cross-cultural environment, especially within the advertising or creative sectors.
• Extensive hands-on experience navigating complex Japanese corporate decision-making structures (Nemawashi and Ringi systems), which is crucial for managing relationships with Japanese HQs.
• Strong understanding of the principles of the Japanese Seikatsusha thinking and BEKKAI solutions
• Experience managing relationships between Japanese clients and local teams.
• Deep understanding of Japanese business culture, language, and market needs.
• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in client services, account management, or a similar role, preferably within the advertising or marketing industry.
• Fluency in Japanese (spoken and written) is required.
• Proficiency in English and/or Filipino is an advantage, as it will be essential for internal team communications.
