Manual Test Engineer – Insurance Domain
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Manual Test Engineer with 4–8 years of experience in software testing and mandatory experience in the Insurance domain. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, designing, and executing manual test cases to ensure the quality, reliability, and functionality of insurance applications.
The candidate should have strong hands-on experience in functional, integration, system, regression, and user acceptance testing, along with a solid understanding of insurance business processes including Policy Administration, Claims, Underwriting, Billing, Renewals, and Endorsements.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze business and functional requirements and prepare comprehensive test scenarios and test cases.
- Execute manual test cases for web, mobile, and enterprise applications.
- Perform Functional, System Integration Testing (SIT), Regression Testing, Smoke Testing, Sanity Testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) support.
- Validate end-to-end business workflows and ensure application functionality meets business requirements.
- Perform API validation using tools such as Postman (preferred).
- Execute backend/database validation using SQL queries where required.
- Identify, log, track, and verify defects using Jira or similar defect management tools.
- Collaborate closely with Developers, Business Analysts, Product Owners, and Scrum teams to resolve issues.
- Prepare test plans, test cases, test data, execution reports, and defect reports.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
- Support production releases, smoke testing, and post-deployment validation.
- Ensure complete test coverage and maintain testing documentation.
- Mentor junior QA engineers and support QA best practices.
Insurance Domain Responsibilities
The candidate must have hands-on experience validating insurance business processes, including:
- Policy Administration
- Claims Management
- Underwriting
- Billing and Payments
- Policy Renewals and Endorsements
- Customer and Agent Portals
Additional responsibilities include:
- Understand insurance business rules, policy lifecycle, and transaction processing.
- Validate insurance products, workflows, and business calculations.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to ensure accurate implementation of insurance requirements.
- Support testing of integrations between insurance platforms and third-party applications.
- Ensure compliance with insurance regulations and business requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills- 4–8 years of experience in Manual Software Testing.
- Strong experience in:
- Functional Testing
- System Integration Testing (SIT)
- Regression Testing
- Smoke & Sanity Testing
- User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- End-to-End Testing
- Experience in defect management using Jira, Azure DevOps, ALM, or similar tools.
- Good knowledge of SQL for database validation.
- Experience in API testing using Postman is an advantage.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Experience in preparing test plans, test cases, traceability matrices, and test reports.
- Minimum 0-1years of hands-on experience in the Insurance domain (Mandatory).

- Experience with insurance platforms such as Guidewire, Duck Creek, Majesco, or similar insurance solutions will be an added advantage.
- ISTQB Foundation Level or equivalent QA certification.
- Exposure to Agile delivery environments.
- Experience working with distributed or global teams.
- Basic understanding of API testing and database validation.
- Experience supporting UAT and production releases.
