Our sister school, Mano Amiga Academy is looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Accountant to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about ensuring accuracy and compliance in all aspects of accounting and government reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting & Compliance
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for school leadership and board of directors.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards for nonprofit organizations.
  • Assist in preparing reports for government grants, donors, and accreditation bodies.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Lead the preparation of the school’s annual operating budget in collaboration with department heads and the principal.
  • Monitor actual vs. budgeted expenses and revenues, investigating and explaining variances.
  • General Ledger & Transactions
  • Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and tuition receivables.
  • Ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Tuition & Donations Management
  • Oversee tuition billing, collections, and financial aid accounting.
  • Track donations, grants, and fundraising income; ensure proper fund allocation and reporting.
  • Internal Controls & Audit
  • Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard the school's assets.
  • Prepare for and coordinate annual audits and work with external auditors.

Qualifications/Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is highly preferred
  • At least three to five years of experience in general accounting, tax compliance, or auditing, preferably in the education or nonprofit sector
  • Experience in using various accounting software
  • Strong knowledge of fund accounting and nonprofit financial reporting
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with strong analytical skills and keen attention to detail
  • Knowledgeable in local tax laws and regulations
  • Willing to work in Parañaque
  • Can start as soon as possible
