The Senior OSP Design Engineer is responsible for leading the planning, design, and implementation of telecommunications outside plant (OSP) networks. This role oversees complex fiber optic network projects, ensures compliance with engineering standards, mentors junior designers, and coordinates with clients and project stakeholders to deliver high-quality network solutions.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead the design and development of fiber optic and telecommunications OSP networks.
Review and approve engineering designs, route plans, and construction drawings.
Conduct network capacity planning and optimization.
Prepare and validate fiber allocation, splice diagrams, and bill of materials (BOM).
Analyze field survey data and provide design recommendations.
Ensure compliance with client specifications, industry standards, and local regulations.
Coordinate with project managers, field engineers, survey teams, and construction personnel.
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior OSP designers and engineers.
Manage project timelines and ensure design deliverables are completed on schedule.
Participate in client meetings and provide technical presentations and solutions.
Review quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) requirements for all design outputs.
Support project implementation and resolve technical issues during deployment.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field.Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in OSP/Fiber Network Design.
Extensive knowledge of FTTH, FTTX, GPON, backbone, and distribution fiber network design.
Proficient in AutoCAD, GIS, Google Earth, and MS Office applications.
Experience with telecom design platforms such as FiberHome, ArcGIS, QGIS, IQGeo, or similar tools.
Strong leadership, project management, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and work under tight deadlines.
Preferred SkillsFiber route planning and optimization.
Aerial and underground fiber network design.
Pole loading analysis and make-ready engineering.
Fiber splicing and allocation planning.
Quality assurance and design review processes.
Client and stakeholder management.
Qualifications/Requirements- Batchelor's Degree in related function
- With at least minimum 1year experience in related field
- Willing to work on field
- Good in communication skills
- Can start ASAP
