The Senior Associate for Tax and Finance is responsible for providing advanced support and expertise in tax compliance, planning, and financial analysis. The role requires a strong understanding of tax regulations, financial reporting, and business operations to assist clients or the organization in maintaining compliance and optimizing financial performance.
- Prepare and review tax returns (e.g., income tax, VAT, withholding tax) ensuring compliance with local regulations.
- Conduct research on tax laws and regulations to provide accurate and timely advice to clients or internal stakeholders.
- Handle tax audits, assessments, and disputes with regulatory authorities.
- Assist in the preparation and review of financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
- Provide financial analysis to support decision-making processes.
- Ensure proper recording and reconciliation of tax-related accounts.
- Liaise with clients, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders to address tax and financial concerns.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships by delivering high-quality, value-added services.
- Develop and implement best practices for tax and financial processes to improve efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, corporate policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff to enhance their technical skills and knowledge.
- Review and oversee the work of junior associates to ensure accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve department goals and objectives.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA certification is a plus but not required
- With at least 3+ years relevant working experience
- Strong knowledge of tax laws, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting software and tools such as Excel, Xero, QuickBooks, or similar applications.
