JOB OVERVIEW:
As the Assistant IT Server Team Lead, you will support the Team, overseeing the server infrastructure within the iSlot machine studio. You will play a vital role in maintaining server performance, availability, and security while assisting in team management and development initiatives.Your Technical expertise in server administration, along with strong problem-solving and leadership skills, will help foster a stable and efficient IT environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience as an IT Server Engineer or in similar role.
- Strong knowledge of server hardware, operating systems and applications.
- Familiarity with server and SAN storage administration in Windows and Linux environments.
- Understanding of virtualization technologies (e.g VMware, Nutanix) and Google Cloud platforms.
- Solid understanding of server security principles and best practices.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, VMware Certified Professional) are a plus.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Team Support and Leadership:
- Assist the IT Server Team Lead in managing daily operations of the server team.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior server engineers and team members.
- Facilitate team meetings and ensure effective communication within the team.
Server Development and Configuration:
- Support the deployment of new servers based on business requirements, including hardware and software installation.
- Assist in configuring server hardware, firmware and BIOS settings to optimize performance.
- Participate in routine administration tasks, such as user management and performance monitoring.
- Contribute to regular server maintenance activities, including patch management and backups.
Server Security and Compliance:
- Help implement and maintain server security measures and ensure compliance with security standards.
Server Performance Monitoring and Optimization:
- Monitor server performance metrics and assist in identifying performance bottlenecks.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize server configurations and resource allocation.
Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution:
- Respond to server-related incidents, troubleshoot issues, and assist in resolving problems.
Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:
- Maintain accurate documentation of server configurations and procedures.
- Contribute to the knowledge base by documenting best practices and solutions.
Backup and Disaster Recovery:
- Assist in implementing and managing server back up and disaster recovery solutions.
- Participate in disaster recovery drills to validate recovery plans.
Vendor Management Collaboration:
- Collaborate with vendors to procure server hardware and software.
- Assist in communication with vendors for troubleshooting and support.
