Senior Systems Engineer (MSP)

The Client
The client is a leading Australian Managed IT and Cyber Security Services Provider and amongst the fastest growing IT companies in Australia. Their clients are mid-market and growing small businesses including many well-known Australian and publicly listed organizations.They are also a major provider of services to the education sector.
They have a reputation for achieving exceptional IT and business outcomes and providing positive customer experiences, delivered by a respected, capable and growing team in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth and Cebu (Philippines).
Your Role
The day-to-day responsibilities will see you consult, implement, manage and support our clients on a broad range of technologies. You will foster strong relationships with clients and understand their technology and business. You will also foster strong relationships with your team.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- In-depth expertise working with hybrid and on-premises Microsoft environments
- Strong experience with Microsoft technologies, including:
- Active Directory / Group Policy
- DHCP / DNS
- Windows Server
- Exchange
Your Professional Skills and Experience
We are looking for highly skilled and capable individuals. Ideally, you will have experience at another Australian Managed Services Provider supporting mid-market (greater than 100 seats) or rapidly growing small businesses.
Technically, you will have extensive experience and consider yourself an expert at supporting and managing many of the following technologies:
- Microsoft 365 including Exchange Online, Teams and SharePoint
- Microsoft Azure
- Microsoft Intune including Autopilot
- Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD)
- Windows Servers
- Azure AD / AD
- Server hardware, storage and virtualisation (Dell, VMWare, HyperV etc).
- Networks and firewalls (Cisco, Fortinet, Sophos, Dell etc).
- Cyber security tools and frameworks.
- Azure compute, networking, and security support and management
- M365/Entra modern workplace support and management
- Intune support and management
Certifications in Cisco, Fortinet and ITIL will be highly regarded, as will Tertiary Level Degrees in IT or other fields.
Your Personal Skills
You will be working with our clients, so we expect you to have strong interpersonal and communication skills. You should have a passion for IT and for what IT can deliver for our clients.
You need to work both autonomously and with a team. You need to be a great problem solver and a lateral thinker. You also need to enjoy learning and sharing knowledge.
Employment Specifics
This is a full-time, permanent role. Due to the nature of IT work, the position will involve some after-hours and weekend work.
