LAW FIRM PROFILE

BPB Law Offices is a law office established on September 8, 2013 by three young and new lawyers, who dreamed to set their mark, establish their legal career and be at par with the known law firms in the country.

On October 30, 2020, it was registered before the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as a General Professional Partnership with Registration No. PP202061857.

THE FOUNDING PARTNERS

ATTY. NEIL AARON C. BALILI, managing partner. He graduated from the Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT) with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Political Science in 2008. He finished his law degree from the University of San Carlos (USC) in Cebu City in 2012 and successfully passed the Bar Examination the following year.

ATTY. RUSSEL S. PERNITES, partner. He graduated from the University of the Philippines Visayas Tacloban College (UPVTC) with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Social Sciences major in Political Science in 2008, cum laude. He finished his law degree from the University of San Carlos (USC) in Cebu City in 2012 and successfully passed the Bar Examination the following year.

ATTY. JULSE G. BACOLOD, partner. He graduated from the University of San Jose Recoletos (USJR) in Cebu City with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Political Science in 2008. He finished his law degree from the University of San Carlos in Cebu City in 2012 and successfully passed the Bar Examination the following year.

Nota bene: at present Atty. Bacolod is not officially a part of the firm since his employment at the Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) in 2014 does not allow him to engage in private practice. However, for purposes of history and profiling he is included here.

BPB Law offices is a full service law firm engaged in the practice of major fields of Philippine law such as corporate, labor, litigation of civil and criminal cases, family relations, real estate, ombudsman and laws on public officers as well as special projects involving tie-up or close coordination with government instrumentalities.

MISSION

In our advocacy we are guided by the dictum enunciated by the Supreme Court that the practice of law is intimately and peculiarly related to the administration of justice and should not be considered like an ordinary “money making” trade, business or craft.

Furthermore, we exercise full devotion to the genuine interest and warm zeal in the maintenance and defense of the rights of our clients.

LEGAL ASSISTANT/ PARALEGAL

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Office Operations.
  • Maintain a welcoming and professional atmosphere in the office, creating a positive experience for clients, visitors, and staff members.
  1. Client Management
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external communications, including answering phone calls, responding to emails, and handling correspondence;
  • Assist attorneys and staff with administrative tasks, including drafting and proofreading correspondence, preparing documents, and managing calendars;
  • Coordinate and schedule client meetings, court appearances, and other appointments, ensuring all necessary arrangements are made;
  • Oversee and manage client files and records, ensuring proper organization, confidentiality, and compliance with data protection regulations;
  • Prepare and send regular monthly updates to clients.
  1. Policy and Procedure Development
  • Implement and maintain office policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with legal regulations and ethical standards;
  • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment, promoting teamwork, open communication, and professional growth among the staff.
  1. Financial Management
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets, tracking billable time, sending and collecting billing information, managing payroll, monitor payment of mandatory benefits and Accounting.

QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Male or Female
  2. Experience working at a law office or similar work environment is encouraged.
  3. Graduate of LLB/ JD; current law students or those with units in LLB/JD with basic knowledge of legal office procedures and familiarity with legal terminology
  4. Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  5. Proficiency in office software applications, such as Microsoft Office, document management systems, and other related devices and equipment.
  6. High attention to detail and accuracy, ensuring a high level of quality in all administrative tasks.
  7. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  8. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to make decisions independently and resolve issues effectively.
  9. Has good communication and writing skills.
  10. Honest, hardworking, creative and enjoys challenges.
