Chief mechanic

About the role

This is a full-time position that requires excellent technical knowledge and a passion for automotive engineering.

• Manage a team of skilled mechanics to ensure the timely and efficient maintenance and repair of all company vehicles
• Perform complex diagnostic assessments and coordinate major repair and overhaul projects
• Stay up-to-date with the latest automotive technologies and techniques to ensure optimal vehicle performance
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and maximize vehicle lifespan
• Liaise with suppliers and vendors to procure necessary parts and equipment
• Maintain detailed records of all maintenance and repair activities
• Provide technical guidance and training to junior mechanics as required

• A minimum of 8 years of experience as a Chief Mechanic or in a similar senior automotive engineering role
• In-depth knowledge of automotive systems, repair techniques, and diagnostic procedures
• Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills to quickly identify and resolve complex issues
• Proven ability to lead and manage a team of mechanics effectively
• Strong organizational and time management skills to priorities tasks and meet deadlines
• Familiarity with the latest automotive technologies and a commitment to continuous learning
• Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
