Software Engineer (Application Support Engineer)

Job Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day application support to ensure system uptime and optimal performance
- Monitor and manage incident tickets via ServiceNow, ensuring timely resolution and documentation
- Handle incident management lifecycle (triage, prioritization, escalation, resolution, and closure)
- Troubleshoot production issues using log analysis tools (Splunk, Datadog)
- Perform root cause analysis and implement fixes or workarounds
- Support API testing and integrations using Postman
- Collaborate with engineering, infrastructure, and business teams to resolve issues
- Identify recurring issues and contribute to problem management and continuous improvements
- Maintain and update SOPs, knowledge base, and documentation
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders on system incidents and updates
- Participate in on-call rotation (including weekends as required)
- 3–5 years of experience in Application/Production Support
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in incident management and troubleshooting
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (open to undergraduates with experience)
- ServiceNow (ticketing & incident management)
- Splunk (log monitoring and analysis)
- Datadog (system monitoring & alerting)
- Postman (API testing)
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Understanding of incident management processes and SLAs
- Ability to read and analyze application logs and basic code
- Basic SQL/database knowledge
- Experience with programming languages (Python, Java, or JavaScript)
- Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure preferred)
- Familiarity with container technologies (Kubernetes)
- Experience with tools like Jira or similar systems
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Analytical mindset with focus on root cause analysis
- Ability to work in cross-functional and global teams
