Are you a WordPress wizard who can take a brief and run with it? Do you love creating clean, modern websites that actually work (and don’t take a year to load)? We’re on the hunt for a WordPress Web Developer / Web Creator to join Biz Sidekick on a contract or freelance basis to bring our digital ideas to life with clarity, speed, and style.

Biz Sidekick is a New Zealand-based agency that supports business owners with the back-end of business — marketing, systems, admin, and branding. We work behind the scenes to help our clients look sharp, stay organised, and grow confidently.

What You’ll Do

Build fully functional websites from scratch or existing themes — strictly WordPress
Use Elementor or similar page builders (we like things slick and user-friendly)
Customise templates and plug-ins to suit the brand and user journey
Take content and instructions and turn them into a great-looking, responsive website
Maintain plug-ins, backups, and updates
Optimise for mobile, speed, SEO, and user experience
Occasionally set up landing pages and contact forms (Fluent Forms / Gravity Forms etc.)

Must-Haves

2+ years' solid experience working with WordPress (theme customisation, page builders, plug-in integration)
Proficient in HTML, CSS, and basic PHP (bonus points for knowing how to not break a site while editing code)
Familiarity with SEO best practices
Experience using Elementor, WP Bakery, or similar tools
Able to take a clear brief and deliver with minimal back-and-forth
Strong attention to detail and pride in building pixel-perfect, functional websites
Bonus if you can troubleshoot errors and talk us out of a white screen of death panic
Exceptional English comprehension and communication skills are essential
