This role will lead infrastructure engineering strategy, infrastructure governance, financial planning, and team leadership across the Group's core infrastructure platforms and services.The Infrastructure Engineering team supports enterprise platforms and services include servers, backup, storage, network, database, cloud and datacenter technologies.

Infrastructure Engineering Senior Manager, reporting to the Head of Infrastructure Services, responsible for defining and executing the company's infrastructure engineering strategy, operating model, and multi-year roadmap across on-premises and cloud environments.The role combines people leadership, service ownership, budgeting, engineering governance, and delivery oversight to ensure secure, scalable, resilient, and cost-efficient infrastructure platforms that support business growth and technology transformation.
The role works closely with Enterprise and Solution / Infrastructure Architect teams to align infrastructure standards and designs with business, application, security, and data requirements. It also partners with finance and procurement to manage budgets, investment planning, commercial evaluation, vendor performance, and lifecycle decisions across infrastructure domains.
Responsibilities- Define and lead the infrastructure engineering strategy, standards, and roadmap aligned with business priorities, resilience requirements, multi-cloud and technology transformation objectives.
- Own infrastructure budget planning, forecasting, cost control, and optimization across hardware, software, cloud consumption, maintenance, support contracts, and managed services.
- Partners with FinOps, Finance and Procurement teams on business cases, budget reviews, demand planning, vendor selection, contract renewals, commercial negotiations, and technology investment prioritization.
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing infrastructure engineering team, including workforce planning, coaching, performance management, succession planning, and capability uplift.
- Manage the design, engineering, and lifecycle of enterprise infrastructure platforms covering servers, operating systems, virtualization, backup, storage, network, database infrastructure, cloud platforms, and datacenter technologies.
- Work closely with Enterprise Architect, Solution Architect and Infrastructure Architect teams to ensure infrastructure patterns, standards, and platform capabilities are aligned with target architecture and programme delivery needs.
- Establish infrastructure engineering standards, reference designs, operational procedures, DR/BCP and governance controls to improve reliability, security, maintainability, and scalability.
- Oversee capacity planning, technology refresh, obsolescence management, and platform modernization across datacentre and cloud environments.
- Ensure infrastructure services meet availability, backup, recovery, performance, and security requirements in partnership with cybersecurity, risk, audit, and operational teams.
- Lead major infrastructure initiatives and engineering workstreams, including platform upgrades, migrations, datacenter changes, cloud adoption, storage expansion, backup modernization, and network enhancements.
- Manage strategic vendors and service partners, including service reviews, performance management, technical governance, risk management, and continuous improvement planning.
- Act as the senior infrastructure engineering lead for technical decision-making, issue escalation, and stakeholder communication across business and technology teams.
- 12+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, infrastructure operations, or platform engineering, with at least 5 years in a managerial or senior leadership role in a complex enterprise environment.
- Proven experience leading enterprise infrastructure teams across multiple technology towers, including servers, backup, storage, network, database platforms, cloud and datacenter services.
- Strong track record in infrastructure strategy, budgeting, cost optimization, vendor management, and service improvement in large organizations.
- Solid understanding of hybrid infrastructure environments, including on-premises platforms and public cloud services such as Azure, GCP, AWS, and/or AliCloud.
- Strong knowledge of infrastructure architecture principles, operational governance, resilience, disaster recovery, backup strategy, and security controls.
- Experience working closely with Enterprise Architects, Solution Architects, infrastructure architect, Finance, Procurement, Cybersecurity, and application teams in planning and delivering infrastructure capabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to lead infrastructure transformation, technology refresh, standardization, and engineering modernization programmes.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical topics into business impact and investment rationale.
- Able to work independently and thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
- Relevant certifications in infrastructure, cloud, network, project delivery, or service management are advantageous, such as Microsoft, AWS, Google Cloud, VMware, ITIL, or equivalent
- Enterprise architecture certifications (e.g. TOGAF) and/or cloud security certifications (e.g. CCSP) are highly valued.
