Job Summary

The Senior Accounting Associate for Tax is responsible for assisting in all aspects of tax compliance, reporting, and planning. This role requires in-depth knowledge of tax laws and regulations, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic financial environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

Tax Compliance
  • Tax Compliance: Ensure in compliance with Philippine tax laws and regulations. Includes preparing and filing applicable tax returns, SLSP and Alpha listings accurately and on time. Also includes the renewal of Book of Accounts and registration, and preparation and consolidation BIR 2307 of buyers.
  • Tax Planning: Assist the organization in optimizing their tax strategies to minimize liabilities while staying within legal boundaries.
  • Research: Stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations in the Philippines and provide insights and recommendations to clients or management based on this knowledge.
  • Tax Audits: Represent clients or the organization during tax audits, liaising with tax authorities, and preparing necessary documentation.
  • Tax Documentation: Maintain accurate and organized records of tax-related documents and transactions.
  • Maintains BIR returns and email confirmations
Operations Compliance
  • Application Process: Prepare and submit business permit applications accurately and within established timelines, including all required documentation and fees.
  • License Renewals: Monitor business permit expiration dates and initiate the renewal process as necessary to ensure uninterrupted operations.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Continuously monitor and track regulatory changes and updates to ensure the company remains compliant with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive records of all permits and licenses, including renewal dates, application status, and related correspondence.
  • Regulatory Reporting: Prepare and submit any required reports or documentation to government agencies or authorities, as needed.
  • Communication: Liaise with local government offices, regulatory bodies, and third-party organizations to address any compliance-related issues or concerns.
  • Compliance Audits: Prepare for and assist with compliance audits and inspections by regulatory agencies, providing requested documentation and information.
Accounting
  • Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and support.
  • Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing financial schedule for management review. Prepares the journal entries of Other income from MRI processing, and other necessary adjusting and reversing entries.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial operations.
  • Software Proficiency: Utilize accounting software and financial management tools proficiently to record transactions and generate reports.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and management, to gather financial data, resolve issues, and support financial decision-making.
  • Financial Modelling: Design, build, and maintain financial models using spreadsheet software (e.g., Microsoft Excel).
Financial Analysis and Business Planning
  • Review and update of business plans
  • Regular update on business plan materials in coordination with BD
  • Prepares financial statements for bank loans
Qualifications
  • Graduate of Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy, Management Accounting, Accounting Technology, or any related Accounting course
  • Preferably with at least 1 year of experience in tax compliance, tax planning, or tax accounting
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
  • Proficient in written and oral communication skills, good interpersonal skills

Note: This is a for a Fixed-term contract with opportunity for regularization depending on the performance evaluation and further assessment of the department.
