Production Supervisor (Painting)

About the role

As Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading and managing the painting department, coordinating daily production activities, and ensuring compliance with all company policies and industry regulations. This role is essential to maintaining our reputation for excellence in metal manufacturing and logistics.

1. Supervise and manage the painting team, including scheduling, training, performance evaluation, and disciplinary actions as required
2. Monitor production schedules and ensure targets are met whilst maintaining quality standards and adhering to timelines
3. Inspect painted products for defects, colour consistency, and adherence to specifications before dispatch
4. Maintain a safe working environment by ensuring adherence to health and safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment and chemical handling procedures
5. Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth workflow and address any production bottlenecks or issues
6. Manage inventory of painting materials, coatings, and supplies, ordering as needed to avoid production delays
7. Conduct regular equipment maintenance checks and report any malfunctions to the maintenance team
8. Prepare and submit production reports, including output data, quality metrics, and incident reports
9. Provide coaching and mentoring to team members to improve skills and promote professional development
10. Implement and monitor continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste

1. Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a production supervisory role, preferably in painting, coating, or metal manufacturing environments
2. Strong knowledge of painting processes, coating materials, colour matching, and surface preparation techniques
3. Proven experience in leading and motivating teams whilst managing performance and resolving workplace conflicts
4. Understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations relevant to painting operations and chemical handling
5. Excellent organisational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks effectively
6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
7. Proficiency in using manufacturing software, production management systems, or spreadsheet applications
8. Physical capability to work in a manufacturing environment and occasionally perform hands-on tasks
9. High school diploma or equivalent; technical qualifications in manufacturing or supervisory training are advantageous
