Position Title: Manager
Honda Logistics Philippines Inc. is currently seeking a Manager to lead its operations in the Philippines. This role is based at the company's head office in the First Philippine Industrial Park (FPIP), Barangay Sta. Anastacia, Sto. Tomas, Batangas.
The Division Head will lead operations across warehouse planning, logistics, spare parts manufacturing, and cross-cultural team management. He/she will be the key liaison between our Philippine operations and HLI Japan’s HQ, fostering continuous improvement and lean practices to drive operational excellence.
Qualifications/Requirements
Educational Attainment: Bachelor's degree in international Trade and Economics, Marketing, Business Management, Economics, or a related field.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in MS Visio, Microsoft Office Suite, and other related software with warehouse planning and layout.
- With experience as a Global Genpo Officer in Warehouse Planning and Expansion. Specifically in warehouse space calculation, layout optimization, and data analysis on job volume, inventory turnover and needs.
- Expertise with logistics equipment, warehousing, spare parts manufacturing, and supply chain management practices.
- Knowledge of Kaizen, 5S, and other Lean manufacturing/logistics methods.
- Experience in product development in response to design specifications, ensuring quality production processes in a warehouse environment.
Language:
- Fluency in Japanese and English is a must.
- Fluent in Japanese manufacturing terminology; skilled at conducting bilingual training and documentation in both Japanese and English.
Management Skills:
- 8-10 years of experience living or working in a Japanese manufacturing setting—including formal training in Japan—to enable effective collaboration with Japan HQ.
- Comfortable participating in Japanese decision-making styles, including Ho-Ren-Sō (report–inform–consult), Ringi, and Nemawashi, to ensure consensus-driven, culturally aligned project progress
- Preferably attended a Honda’s leadership training programs, such as, but not limited to, the HEADS and Blue Water Leadership Program, to effectively develop team members.
- With experience working with Japanese expatriates or in joint ventures is required, to work effectively alongside Japanese and Filipino team members, understanding the cross-cultural expectations and governance dynamics inherent in such setups.
- With experience in handling or was trained in a GENPO of a Multi-National Japanese company. Signifying familiarity with rotational leadership roles, Japanese corporate decision-making, and global executive standards.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and foster a culture of accountability that aligns with HLPH values, and commitment to continuous improvement.
- Proven experience in coaching, developing, and evaluating team members for performance and potential, aligned with the culture and philosophy of Honda.
- Demonstrated success in managing budgets and resources effectively.
- Ability to analyze and recommend improvements to manufacturing processes, procedures, and systems.
