Quality Assurance Tester
About the Position
Our client is a highly regarded and professional software development & implementation business that has developed a unique methodology and approach to customer facing SAAS systems for the Automotive, Marine and Motorcycle Retail markets. It has major customers in both Australia and New Zealand.
The Quality Assurance (QA) Tester is responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of DMS software solutions through structured testing practices. This role operates as part of an offshore delivery team and works closely with Business Analysts, Developers, and Product Owners to validate system functionality against business requirements.
The QA Tester plays a key role in identifying defects early, improving product quality, and supporting successful releases within an Agile delivery environment.
About the role
Test Planning & Design- Analyse functional and technical requirements for all modules (e.g. Sales, Service, Parts, Admin, CRM)
- Develop comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts aligned to user stories and acceptance criteria
- Ensure traceability between requirements and test coverage
- Execute manual and/or automated tests across, functional, integration, regression testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) support
- Validate system behaviour across end-to-end processes
- Document test results and provide clear evidence of outcomes
- Identify, log, and track defects using approved tools (e.g. JIRA)
- Provide clear reproduction steps, severity assessment, and impact analysis
- Collaborate with developers and Business Analysts to resolve issues efficiently
- Participate in team and project meetings including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives
- Work closely with Business Analysts, Developers and Project Managers
- Provide input on quality risks and release readiness
- Ensure DMS workflows align with defined business processes
- Validate data integrity across modules and integrations
- Support testing of system customisations, configurations, and integrations
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date testing documentation
- Provide regular status updates on testing progress, risks, and defects
- Contribute to test summary reports and release sign-off documentation
- Test coverage and effectiveness
- Defect detection rate and quality of defect reporting
- Timely execution of test cycles
- Contribution to successful, low-defect production releases
- Stakeholder satisfaction and communication effectiveness
Work Experience and Competency Requirements
Essential- 3+ years’ experience in software testing.
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently, pragmatically and adapt processes to suit a small team environment.
- Experience in configuration and use of automated test systems
- Experience in testing integrations projects using Soap UI and Postman.
- Experience working directly with customers or external clients.
- Proficient in JIRA & Confluence
- Proactive and self-motivated, comfortable working with minimal supervision.
