Senior System Infrastructure Engineer - Level 3 (Work from Home)

About the Role

To excel in this role, you must possess excellent communication skills and a wealth of experience as a Level 3 senior technician. You will be able to support our current environment immediately and execute various projects with ease.

• Assist IT Operations Manager in designing and deploying complex systems to meet business requirements, considering scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues, analyse logs, monitor system performance, and collaborate with other teams to fix problems (Level 3).
• Implement and deploy both cloud and on-premises systems, configuring hardware and software components, and integrating technologies.
• Manage and maintain IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage systems, and virtualization environments.
• Ensure the security of systems and data by implementing security best practices, conducting security audits, and responding to security incidents.
• Automate routine tasks and processes using scripting languages and automation tools to improve efficiency and reduce human error.
• Optimise system performance by tuning configurations, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing performance enhancements.
• Document system configurations, procedures, and best practices, and share knowledge with team members through training sessions and documentation.
• Effective communication with staff, ensuring they always have a clear understanding of technical issues and their resolutions.
• Lead or contribute to projects involving system implementations, upgrades, or migrations, defining project scope, timelines, and deliverables, and coordinating resources and stakeholders.
• Stay updated with the latest technologies and best practices in the field, pursuing professional development opportunities, and obtaining certifications to enhance skills.
• Follow Company processes, industry best practices and internal procedures.
• Ensure that tickets are being closed and falling within their assigned SLAs.
• Mentor and develop junior team members.

• Minimum five years of experience in system administration, with at least three year in a senior system administration role
• Strong technical background in areas such as

1. System administration (Windows or Linux)
2. Microsoft 365 technologies (eg: Azure AD, InTune, SharePoint, etc)
3. Microsoft server technologies including Active Directory, Hyper-V, Windows Server, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
4. Cloud Technologies including Microsoft Azure cloud services, including Azure Virtual Desktop, Azure Active Directory, Azure AD Connect, and Azure Storage.
5. Microsoft Intune and key security elements in M365 and the Azure platform.
6. Automation and Scripting: Proficiency in scripting languages like PowerShell for automating tasks and managing infrastructure efficiently.
7. Networking experience (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, routing, switching, wireless technology) and network infrastructure (LAN/WAN)
8. Virtualization and cloud computing platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, AWS, Azure)
9. Scripting and automation (Python, PowerShell, Bash)
10. Configuration management tools (eg: SCCM)
11. Security best practices and technologies
12. Database management systems (eg: MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server)
13. Monitoring and logging tools (eg: Nagios, Splunk, ELK stack)
14. Remote Management and Monitoring tools (eg: Datto RMM)
15. Excellent knowledge of server hardware (products and troubleshooting)

• Advanced skills in identifying, diagnosing, and resolving complex infrastructure, cloud and Microsoft 365 issues.
• Experience in Firewall technologies
• Experience with Radius, SSO, MFA, Azure platform.
• Experience with Citrix, Firewalls, Certificates.
• Experience in Backup, Replication and DR technologies. (Veeam knowledge is a bonus)
• Excellent problem-solving, teamwork skills, and adapt to evolving technologies and business needs
• Microsoft Certified Professional (2012 or higher)
