Job Description
The OT Network Security Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining network infrastructure within an industrial environment. This role involves ensuring the security, reliability, and performance of OT systems, collaborating with IT and OT teams, and adhering to industry standards and best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Network Infrastructure: Configuration, and maintenance of the network infrastructure required for industrial automation, including Ethernet/IP, Modbus, and other industrial communication protocols.
Control System Integration: Integrate IT systems with industrial control systems, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
Security and Reliability: Implement and maintain security measures to protect industrial control systems from cyber threats, as well as measures to ensure system reliability and availability.
Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with industrial engineers and operators to optimize manufacturing or operational processes using IT solutions.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Monitor, diagnose, and resolve IT and automation system issues, including providing on-call support for critical incidents.
Vendor Collaboration: Work with industrial automation equipment vendors and IT solution providers to source and deploy appropriate technologies.Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and best practices.
Training and Support: Provide training and support to industrial personnel on using
IT and automation solutions effectively.
Mandatory Skills:
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven experience in network engineering, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of networking protocols, hardware, and software and network security best practices.
Strong knowledge of industrial automation technologies, including PLCs, SCADA, and HMI systems.
Familiarity with industrial communication protocols, such as OPC, Modbus, and Profibus.
Understanding of industrial control systems, sensors, actuators, and process control.
Experience with cybersecurity practices in industrial settings.
Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, ISA/IEC 62443) are a plus not required.
