Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance Manager to join our team in Manila. The Finance Manager will oversee the company’s financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulatory requirements, and the implementation of best practices in finance management.This role will require a strategic thinker and someone who can work effectively in a dynamic business environment. You will have a high standard of work ethic and are expected to work in accordance with company processes, policies, and audit requirements.
The Position
The Finance Manager requires an analytical mind and an eye for details to manage, support, and oversee all aspects of finance operations, ensuring contractual obligations are met and the team delivers in line with company and parent company requirements.In addition, you will provide support and work closely with the Line Manager and provide management to junior staff when required.
This dynamic and fast-paced role is for someone who likes working with tight daily and monthly deadlines and has a genuine desire to learn about the business. Most importantly, it demonstrates a macro management style and cultivates workplace transparency appropriately.
This position manages the XERO accounting system, ensuring the reconciliation of the AP and AR subledgers, reviews balance sheet schedules, and handles month-end duties, including but not limited to rebates accruals, interest accruals, balancing of the suspense ledgers, and supporting corporate requests from the Line Manager.
You will also be responsible for managing the payroll function for the business. You will lead the event settlements with clients, ensuring contracts are implemented from the financial side of the business, event finance requirements are supported and met, and providing support to key clients when additional requests are made.
Other duties include cashflow management, administrative matters as requested by the Line Manager, and ensuring compliance with statutory reporting in accordance with IFRS and other applicable local regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the day-to-day financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and cash flow management.
- Develop and monitor financial plans including quarterly and annual budgets.
- Ensure compliance with local and international financial regulations, tax laws, and corporate governance standards.
- Review VAT returns accurately and ensure timely monthly submission.
- Ensure contracted payments and advances are SOX compliant.
- Payroll management and compliance, including lodgement of PhilHealth and social security submissions to local authorities.
- Responsible for risk management of the business and ensuring appropriate insurances are covered adequately.
- Responsible for annual tasks such as financial audit, statutory tax report, and any other required reviews and audits consistent with industry practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in financial management.
- Strong knowledge of financial regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements within the Philippines.
- Proficiency with finance systems is desirable – Xero, Oracle, and SAP.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment, whilst managing stress and meeting deadlines under flexible working arrangements.
- Drive and motivate direct reports and be a team player across the business.
