Manila - R&D Packaging Coordinator

Educational Background:

• Postgraduate / Graduate– Packaging or Engineering with relevant packaging experience.
• Chemical engineering/ chemistry major

Work experience required:

• Minimum 3-5 years of relevant Packaging R&D experience.

Technical / Functional Skills:

• Good understanding for formulation, ingredients, specifications, manufacturing process, and factory operations for Home care and cosmetics.
• Experience in Working on Flexible, Rigid and Carton Packaging (Full Operational level).
• Established delivery of complex and Multiple projects desirable.

Purpose of the Job:

• Provide end to end R&D support for Company International's sourcing operation from Greater Asia (Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam) & Indonesia. This involves planning and executing strategic sourcing initiatives, coordinating and managing all R&D activities mainly for Packaging as well as formulation relating to export for UI from the region.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality technical support, coordinate and manage all R&D activities within Greater Asia UI business.
• Support planning and execution of strategic souring initiative for UI from the region, ensuring alignment with UI’s business objective and standard (such as NPD, Resilience, savings, sustainability etc.)
• Lead all the R&D interventions for packaging development & sustainability and formulation, driving programs alongside other UI R&D BG leads
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as supply chain, finance, quality and R&D, to ensure smooth execution of project.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with local (Supply Chain, R&D etc.) team, UI’s internal and external stakeholders
• Monitor and report on the performance and progress of sourcing projects, identifying and resolving any issues or risks that may arise.
• Drive rigor, risk assessment, mitigation, and safety during project delivery
• Manage local relationships with packaging vendors and effectively communicate regional and local packaging requirement
• Support full-scale production trials, incl. comprehensive data recording and reporting on trail outcome.
