DevOps Engineer - Muntinlupa

JOB SUMMARY:

The ideal candidate will have a solid background in software engineering or previous experience in successful DevOps implementations and be well-versed in tools and practices that optimize software build, test, packaging, and deployment processes.

You will play a critical role in supporting application teams by implementing DevOps best practices, tools, and processes that align with Sun Life’s standards and goals. Strong technical problem-solving skills, accountability, and a drive for continuous improvement are essential to succeed in this position.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist application development teams in implementing CI/CD pipelines, while coaching and enabling teams to adopt and maintain DevOps solutions.
• Ensure DevOps practices align with Sun Life standards, policies, and good practices; provide tailored recommendations for adoption.
• Collaborate with architects, designers, BSA teams, QA, operations, and testing teams to deliver robust, fully automated CI/CD systems.
• Deploy, configure, and manage DevOps pipeline tools and perform continuous maintenance and support.
• Act as the custodian of shared DevOps pipeline code and reusable scripts across multiple technologies (Java, .NET, etc.).
• Define, implement, and manage release processes, version control strategies, and environment configuration.
• Design and enhance automated deployment processes, tools, and pipelines for improved speed, quality, and security.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in the CI/CD and deployment pipelines.
• Analyze business and technical requirements to anticipate future infrastructure and application needs.
• Ensure all DevOps solutions incorporate Sun Life’s information security standards and compliance requirements.
• Research and evaluate emerging DevOps technologies, tools, and methodologies for continuous improvement.
• Develop modular automation applications and pipelines using Java and APIs (REST web services) built on Sun Life’s API platform, utilizing tools such as SwaggerHub and RapidAPI.
• Write and maintain pipeline code using relevant scripting and programming languages based on the technology stack (e.g., Java, .NET, Bash, Python).

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3–5+ years of experience in DevOps, Software Engineering, or Build & Release Engineering roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions).
• Proficiency in scripting and programming languages (e.g., Bash, PowerShell, Python, Java, .NET).
• Experience working with version control systems like Git.
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
• Solid understanding of application security, monitoring, and deployment best practices.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
• Strong problem-solving skills, self-motivation, and accountability for delivering high-quality solutions.
• Willingness to stay updated with the latest DevOps trends and technologies.
• Must be amenable to work 2-3 times a week onsite and willing to work in BGC
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
