Construct, install, and repair building frameworks and structures made from wood, plywood, and other materials. They work on various construction projects, including installing cabinets, doors, windows, and flooring. Skilled carpenters also interpret blueprints, measure and cut materials, and ensure quality and safety standards are met.

Qualifications/Requirements

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent (trade school certification preferred).

Apprenticeship or on-the-job training experience.

Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and measurement instruments.

Physical stamina and strength for lifting heavy materials and standing for long periods.

Attention to detail and the ability to perform precise measurements and cuts.

Skills:

Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.

Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

Knowledge of wood properties and other construction materials.
