The Finance Director is responsible for overseeing the financial health and sustainability of the HMO, ensuring compliance with Philippine regulations, and supporting strategic decision-making. This role manages financial planning, risk management, reporting, and regulatory compliance, particularly with healthcare and insurance-related standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Strategy & Leadership
  • Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company’s goals and growth plans
  • Provide strategic recommendations to the Executive Team and Board
  • Lead long-term financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting
  1. Financial Management & Reporting
  • Oversee preparation of accurate and timely financial statements
  • Ensure compliance with Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS)
  • Monitor cash flow, working capital, and financial performance metrics
  1. Regulatory Compliance (HMO-Specific)
  • Ensure compliance with regulations from the Insurance Commission and Department of Health (DOH)
  • Oversee submission of statutory reports and regulatory filings
  • Ensure adherence to healthcare-related financial policies and risk reserves
  1. Cost Control & Utilization Management
  • Monitor healthcare utilization trends and costs (claims, provider payments, etc.)
  • Implement cost-containment strategies without compromising service quality
  • Analyze claims data to improve financial efficiency
  1. Risk Management & Internal Controls
  • Establish and maintain robust internal controls and financial policies
  • Identify financial risks and implement mitigation strategies
  • Oversee internal and external audits
  1. Team Leadership & Development
  • Lead and manage the finance and accounting team
  • Develop staff capabilities and ensure high performance standards
  • Coordinate with other departments (Operations, Sales, Medical Services)
  1. Stakeholder & Vendor Management
  • Manage relationships with banks, auditors, regulators, and external partners
  • Support negotiations with healthcare providers and vendors from a financial perspective

Qualifications:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related field (Master’s degree is an advantage)
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role
  • Experience in HMO, insurance, or healthcare industry is highly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Philippine taxation, regulatory compliance, and healthcare financing
