General Duties and Responsibilities
- Review all plans and technical specifications.
- Assists in the preparation of Inspections and Test Plans (ITP), Method Statement and other QA/QC deliverables.
- Assists in the documentation work, verification, and reporting of activities to ensure compliance with the project requirements.
- Conducts regular monitoring inspections of the construction activities to identify deviations/non conformances at an early stage of the activity.
- Conducts material delivery inspection of all permanent materials.
- Conducts regular formworks condition inspection and material storage checking to ensure its quality and pristine condition are maintained.
- Ensure that subcontractors adhere to the Project Quality Plan by conducting inspections of their works and report non-compliance for proper corrective action.
- Monitors the rectification and closure of punch listed items prior to proceeding to the next activity or handover to the Client.
- Coordinates with client’s engineers/inspectors for joint inspections.
- Responsible for developing work method statement in collaboration with Operations Team.
- Check on subcontractor’s and workers’ activities to ensure their works comply with project specification and standards.
- Prepares Internal QA/QC report and coordinates the same to be corrected prior to inspection of the Project Management Team and distributes them to the corresponding departments.
- The position also monitors the implementation of the necessary corrections.
- Calls for client inspection for completed Structural and Architectural or MEPFS (if applicable) works upon internal verification.JOB DESCRIPTION
- Performs quality assurance and quality control on all works and materials through daily observation, measurement, and inspection.
- Ensure that the company’s safety and security program is properly implemented.
- Prepares the necessary documentation as required by the Project Management Team (e.g., IR, ITR, CPR, Handover, Punchlist, Closeout).
- Issues Non-conformance Notice to Operation in charge and subcontractor (direct or nominated) for each non-conformance discovered.
- Notifies the Project Management Team for each non-conformance discovered on the works of Nominated Sub-Contractors for proper issuance of Notice to Comply.
- Witness the material and product testing of subcontractors (direct and nominated).
- Inspects precision tools of incoming/releasing parts and source inspection of parts and equipment.
- Witness the turnover and acceptance of Trade Contractors’ works or product.
- Compile and register the QA/QC document or records for filing, manage handling over and archiving system upon completion of the project.
- Escalate all observed major quality issues to immediate superior or QA/QC Manager.
The QA/QC Engineer has the authority to:
- Stop work when continuing work may adversely affect quality or cover up a defect.
- Prevent the use of equipment or materials that may adversely affect quality.
- Direct the removal or replacement of any non-conforming work, equipment, or material.
- Suspend work and/or supply of materials as deemed necessary to assure quality.
Qualification and Skills Requirement
Educational Attainment:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering and any related field.
- Professional License is an advantage.
- Materials Engineer 1 or 2 certified is a plus.
Work Experience:
- 1–2 years’ experience working in the construction industry, preferably in quality assurance and quality control.
- Experience in infrastructure projects is a plus.
Technical Competencies:
- Proficient in using MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Comprehensive understanding of quality control standards.
- Knowledgeable of material testing requirements and procedures.
- Ability to read and understand construction plans and drawings.
Skills Required:
- Ability to interpret instructions, either written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
