- Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Renewable Energy, or a related technical discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience in the Australian solar PV industry, preferably supporting inverters or similar electrical equipment.
- Strong knowledge of Australian standards and regulatory requirements.
- Familiarity with inverter commissioning, solar monitoring systems, and energy meter integration.
- Ability to read and interpret single-line diagrams, schematics, and datasheets.
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; knowledge of Nearmap, Helioscope, or PVsyst is a plus.
Desirable:
- Practical understanding of MODBUS TCP/RTU, export control systems, and communication protocols.
- Experience with legacy ABB/FIMER inverters and product transitions.
- Hands-on experience with SCADA or PLC-based systems.
- Deliver timely, high-quality technical support for a full range of solar inverters (residential, commercial, and legacy models).
- Assist with system commissioning, troubleshooting, warranty claims, and performance monitoring across various installations.
- Respond to technical inquiries via phone, email, and remote diagnostic tools to ensure prompt resolution and customer satisfaction.
- Guide installers through system setup, meter configuration, grid compliance, and network integration (MODBUS, RS-485, Ethernet, Wi-Fi).
- Support DNSP/grid-connection compliance and adjust system settings such as volt-var, volt-watt, and export limits.
- Maintain accurate logs of customer issues, troubleshooting steps, and final resolutions within support systems.
- Monitor escalated cases and follow up to ensure timely closure and customer satisfaction.
- Develop and update technical documents, commissioning guides, support videos, and FAQs based on real-world insights.
- Provide technical feedback to R&D and product teams based on recurring field issues.
- Conduct training sessions, webinars, and workshops to enhance installer skills and product knowledge.
- Demonstrate empathy, patience, and urgency in resolving critical system faults and downtimes.
- Stay up to date on product developments, inverter technologies, and Australian regulatory changes.
