Junior Farm Technician (Agriculture | Crop Production | Field Work)

Job Summary

The Junior Farm Technician supports the daily operations of plant production, ensuring proper care and maintenance of crops, seedlings, and farm equipment.

This role involves fieldwork, crop monitoring, and implementation of agricultural best practices, while assisting in research and development activities.

1. Farm Operations & Crop Management

• Assist in land preparation, planting, irrigation, fertilization, and harvesting
• Perform routine crop maintenance such as pruning, staking, and pest control application
• Monitor plant health, pest infestations, and nutrient deficiencies

1. Monitoring & Data Collection

• Record observations on crop growth, soil conditions, and environmental factors
• Assist in data gathering for research trials and development projects
• Report plant diseases, abnormalities, and operational concerns

1. Equipment & Facility Maintenance

• Maintain tools, equipment, machinery, and irrigation systems
• Support installation and upkeep of farm structures (trellises, net houses, shade systems)

1. Training & Support

• Participate in training sessions on modern farming techniques
• Assist in guiding farm workers and trainees on basic agricultural practices
• Stay updated on latest agricultural methods and technologies

• Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, or related field
• Licensed Agriculturist is an advantage
• Experience in farming, crop production, or agricultural research is preferred

• Basic knowledge of plant care, soil health, and irrigation systems
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently

• Willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Physically capable of handling farm-related tasks
