Application Programmer (WebGIS)

Job Description

Qualifications:

At least 10 years experience in developing and successfully deploying map-enabled / WebGIS client applications,

Technical skills: HTML & CSS, JavaScript/Angular JS, Leaflet, Python, R, C#, SQL/NonSQL Database, REST API, WebArchitecture, NPM, Information Security & Privacy

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Job Description:

1. Under the supervision of the Senior GIS Specialist, liaise with the company's departments and staff to identify their needs for customized Web-GIS applications,
2. Familiarize with the company Spatial Data Infrastructure, both in ITD as well as map-enabled business apps like CDIH, CCDRMS, MATALAS, etc..
3. In collaboration with the GIS Server Manager and Administrator, identify the technical and security requirements for developing Web-GIS applications or plugins,
4. Support consultant teams hired by individual ADB projects to develop standards and security-conform applications that integrate seamlessly with the Enterprise GIS,
5. Ensure proper hand-over/migration of Web-GIS Apps developed by consultant teams under departments and projects not under ITD, and (co)-maintain the Apps on a regular basis once launched, in close coordination with the App owners,
6. Deploy applications and perform regular maintenance (bug fixing, backup, software/code updates/upgrades),
7. Any other task ITD GIS considers necessary.

• Scoping Report: Document detailing staff and needs in Web-GIS applications to support project / investment planning, implementation and monitoring.
• Web-GIS Applications: as discussed with GIS Operation Teams manager and consultants, and other ADB teams developing map-enabled apps.
